Ethiopia Worka
Washed process
Mr. Bekele Gemeda farms 9.5 ha of coffee trees in Worka village in the Yirgacheffe region. He has 11 children, several of whom work on the farm with him. Mr. Gemeda is a proud member of the Single Farmer Project, an effort to increase the traceability of coffees from Ethiopia to the farm level, which has been difficult in the past due to various regulations.
This coffee is composed of heirloom Ethiopian varieties which are native to the area and is picked ripe and depulped the same day. This is followed by a short open-air fermentation, and a thorough rinse in water channels to remove the remaining mucilage from the beans. The coffee is then spread out in the sun to dry for 5-15 days.
Tastes like: lemon + green tea + jasmine flower
